Weeki Wachee Springs
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park has been entertaining people since 1947 with their live mermaid shows, teaching about Florida wildlife and they also have paddling adventures down the Weeki Wachee River. You can also swim in the crystal-clear water at Buccaneer Bay or rent a kayak, paddleboard, or private boat.
The American Indians must have had wonderful times living in this area. American Indians from the Seminole and Timucua Tribes lived in the surrounding areas and used the Springs for their fresh water supply which was spiritual to them in their beliefs. God was everything to the American Indians and I am sure the Springs were very sacred.
Best Times to Visit Weeki Wachee Springs
The best time to visit would be the summertime when it’s very hot in Florida. There will be more people around then but it’s very refreshing to jump in the cold spring water when it’s hot and humid. If you do not like being around a lot of other people, then I would suggest you visit in the wintertime.
